The main dining room is situated on the ground floor and is pictured above and below.








The main lounge is situated on the first floor and is reached by a staircase leading from the dining area above.

Among various exhibits are an an antique Broadwood square piano and a portrait of the young Montagu family (below)





The Chapel in the Palace House and an escape staircase (below) for a Roman Catholic celebrant following the Reformation and Dissolution of the Monastries in the reign of Henry VIII.

England's castles and country houses commonly had some precaution in the event of a surprise, such as a secret means of concealment or escape that could be used at a moment's notice.
